2013- The Year of Perseverance!
Welcome Dear Reader
Happy New Year & Blessings to you and yours.
Many of the groups and blogs I follow suggest choosing a word as a mantra for the new year. I have been thinking about this for several days and the word that I keep coming back to is PERSEVERANCE. As you can see by the definition below, it means diligence and hard work.
That is what I need to put into my TTE venture every day of 2013 to make it continue to bloom and grow.
The Synonyms are pretty great too, dedication, steadfastness, and pluck to name a few. These are all traits I need to work on.
The Antonyms, well these are some of my most dreaded traits, and things I constantly battle against. It's quite easy for me to slip into laziness and stay there comfortably for a while. Another issue I have, that is not listed below is fear of confrontation and that fear needs to be starved, not fed, as I continue to press forward on my creative journey.
I love vintage ephemera and so I think for this year I will put up these 2 images in my work space to remind me of my goal. Rosie the Riveter -We can do it! & Keep Calm and Carry On. Both are great messages about perseverance and can inspire me along the way.
Personally, I think making specific resolutions can be over rated and a set up to fail. However, a new mind set, a new way of thinking, a new perspective may be just what my 2013 needs.
Join me in this new outlook. I'd love to hear what your 'word' of 2013 will be. Good Luck!
Warm Regards,
Tammie

ReplyDeletePerfect work and pictures to remind you of your mantra! Rosie the Riveter was my "idol" for some time! I tend to not use the resolution at all - I prefer to set goals...I am less apt to fail this way! I wish you much success in 2013!
ReplyDeleteGreat word Tammie ... it was one I was considering until the word ACTION caught my attention. I love the images you chose to keep you on track ... I've picked several out for myself as well. Great minds think alike!!! =) Happy 2013!
ReplyDeleteI really needed this Tammie, I tend toward procrastination and I need to remember to PERSEVERE!!!! I am making a new room for myself out of an unused bedroom,[my son's old room]. I need a lot of perseverance to just get the old stuff out and set up my room!! I am really excited about it. Thank you again for the "Word" and the the thoughts!!! Happy 2013!
ReplyDeleteGreat word and great images to go along with it!

That is a great word! I am also one that can easily think of other things that I need to do. I choose commitment. For my word for 2013. Good luck with your word. I know that I will need it to follow thru on all my plans.
ReplyDeleteReally like what you said about starving the fear! All the very best, Tammie!
