Bead Soup~ The Gift

After a long day of errands I came home to find the mail sitting on the kitchen table.  I knew from a distance that my 'SOUP' had arrived!  I grabbed some scissors and carefully cut into the envelope. My partner Shanti, had bundled everything into several cute little pouches and envelopes.  As a gingerly cut and opened each package I found a beautiful collection unfolding before me.
A lovely peacock feather focal pendant wrapped in copper with an orange peace bead charm, a copper leaf toggle clasp, a verdigris key charm, deep green sari ribbon, leather cording, an amazing array of glass and stone beads in vibrant greens and oranges and two strands of tangerine glass rounds and orange dyed stick coral.  Immediately the ideas began swirling in my head.  These are colors I would not normally gravitate towards but they were so perfectly coordinated that they inspired me right out of the package.
This was exactly what I'd hoped for! Something that would push me off my safe little cliff and help me expand my horizons.  I can't wait to get to work and I hope I do this the justice that it deserves. Stay tuned for the results on August 11, 2012.
