Last week I made a trip down to Elizabeth City, North Carolina [it's only about 15 miles out my back door to the state line] to my friends at Two and a Half Women.
It was a long over due visit to refresh and refill my display at their shop.
While I was there Tina & Mechele told me about a vintage and antique shop 'The Nesting Cottage' just down the road in Camden, NC
I *love* vintage and antiques so I thought I'd take a look.
Let's just say I hit the assemblage jackpot!
This is an older photo off their Facebook page and when I was there there were 2 more HUGE boxes that I never even touched.
I dug, sifted and picked and after a few minutes I looked at my watch....it had been well over an hour! I hadn't even scratched the surface so to speak. Unfortunately, I needed to get on the road....
So I brought all this home and gave it a good washing in warm soapy water and a scrub with an old toothbrush. Here is a quick shot taken outside while it was drying.
There are pins, orphan earrings, shoe clips, a bit of this n' that.... and the best part all of it for only $10!
Some are marked, Monet, Coro and even a Lisner orphan earring [center left 2 light blue stones].
This was the 1/2 a belt buckle. Patinated with a lovely moss green and then a hole drilled at the base for charms. I am putting this on a strand of peridot gem chips with a coordinating clasp.
This beauty is made of several earrings and two leaf stampings from B'Sue Boutique. The orphan cameo earring had a coral/terra cotta background so I added some copper patina to the 'wings' and a few coral rhinestones for some bling.
I'm still working my way through these goodies and adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing them,
It's so much fun!
Thanks for stopping by
