Art of Color Bootcamp - Complex Cane /Van Gogh Sunflower

Hi Friends~
As you may remember I am participating in Heather Powers Art of Color Bootcamp.

Last week We were challenged to work on a complex cane inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's famous Sunflowers painting seen at left.

We mixed all these colors per her directions and formed various shapes and canes. Then we assembled them in an ever growing combination.

It was HUGE!  Mine was almost 6in. long and weighed 8 oz, that's the equivalent of 4 blocks of clay.

Then the reduction began. Cutting it at various times, not only to make the process easier, but to allow for various sizes.

And here is a picture frame that I started work on using cane slices from the medium large canes.
Here are a set of beads I made from the tiniest cane reduction.   Not bad for a first effort. I definitely have some lessons learned and this class has sparked a few ideas of my own.  Now on to the last week of lessons.

Thanks for visiting today. I truly appreciate your time.  ~ Warm Regards,  Tammie

  4. Thought I had left a comment earlier, but Blogger must be playing games again :( Your sunflowers are gorgeous, Tammie, but if you haven't already noticed, canes are quite addictive (ask me about my collection LOL).
