Answer Me This? 8/18/14

This week's Answer Me This Questions:

I hope you'll play along in the comments below or in your own blog post!

Coles Phillips - Good Housekeeping Magazine cover (July 1914) Fadeaway girl1. What is your favorite room in the house?
Although it's tiny, messy and has terrible wifi - I LOVE my craft room/studio

2. Do you subscribe to any magazines or other periodicals?

Good Housekeeping-
I am NOT a good housekeeper, but I like and use many of their recipes and household hints and ideas.

3. How do you feel about the sign of peace in Mass? Enriching? Awkward? Overdone? Just right? Some combination of the above?  Personally. I don't mind turning to the person right next to me and saying 'Peace be with you'.  But at my parish is quite a hootenanny, with people practically leaping across the aisles and that, I find moderately annoying

4. What is your least favorite sound?- Proverbial nails on the chalkboard, but also that twisting of styrofoam sound-ack!

5. What was your favorite TV show (or shows) growing up?

I wanted to be Samatha sooo bad. A typical housewife that still had the power to turn people into frogs =)      Image detail for -Partridge Family - The Partridge Family Wallpaper (693623) - Fanpop ...
I LOVED 'Bewitched' and of course The Partridge Family when I was a young teen.

6. What are your favorite TV shows now? You mean the things I DVR because I can't keep my eyes open after 9pm-

Project Runway, 2014 Primetime Emmy Nominee for Outstanding Reality-Competition ProgramProject Runway, Sherlock, Elementary, Grimm, Downton Abbey, Downton Abbey Locations   Grimm (2011) In modern day Portland, Oregon, a police detective inherits the ability to see supernatural creatures.

Comments

  1. 1. Favorite room (easy one) Craft/sewing room: if it had a fridge I would NEVER have to leave ;)

    2. No magazine subscriptions anymore; a big section of my shelving contains my "Threads" collection (sewing) and I only buy the quarterly "Jewelry Stringing" off the shelf when I can find it.

    3. Sign of Peace: I was fine with handshaking, but here that seems to have deferred to generic head-nodding in this time of germophobia.

    4. Least favorite sound: one of my cats gagging up a hairball (yuck!)

    5. We got our first TV (b&w from the landfill, Dad repaired) when I was about 6 or 7, and I immediately fell in love with Star Trek (1960s).

    6. If by "favorite show" you mean the ones I actually A) remember when they are on, and B) arrange my schedule around (no DVR), the list is pretty short: "Vikings" and "Walking Dead". Yes, I am that glamorous LOL

  2. Oh, I want to play as well!
    1. My favorite is also the craft room. It's where I go to play.
    2. I'm not a subscriber to anything as the magazines just tend to pile up unread, but I do buy several beading magazines as soon as they come out (Stringing, Jewelry Affaire, and Belle Armoire are my favorites)
    3. I'm not a regular church attendee, but when I do go I do feel a little awkward about it. Of course, I feel rather awkward around new people every time. However, the warm smiles that are usually behind the shaking of the hands and the passing of peace are well worth a little awkwardness.
    4. Least favorite sound. . .I'm sure there are plenty, but babies crying always get to me. I just want to go calm them down. That's probably from not having any of my own.
    5. As a kid, I remember really loving the Dukes of Hazzard and The Cosby Show.
    6. Favorite shows now? Project Runway, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, @Midnight (I have others but most of them aren't on any more. Friends most specifically)

I think that's everything. That was fun! :)

  3. 1. My favorite room is the living room, it's where we hang out most of the time and I usually do my crafting in there.
    2. Bead and Button and Beadwork, I am so happy they are both digital now and I don't have them laying all over the house!
    3. I have been to services where they do that, and I've never been comfortable with it. I'm pretty shy and always have been so I would much rather skip it.
    4. Nails on chalkboard and whining (any whining, humans, dogs, etc)
    5. Batman (the original with Adam West) and Spiderman (the cartoon). If I was bad at school Mom would take away my Batman privileges.
    6. Marvel Agents of Shield (I haven't changed much lol), Longmire, Whose Line is it, Mythbusters, and the crime shows (CSI, Bones, Criminal Minds). We dvr them and watch them together (usually while I am beading).
